I am originally from Ohio. I have been all over the world as a 24 year veteran of the Air Force (still serving!). I am married with 2 daughters and one granddaughter.
I have always loved music. I have been DJing since 1995. It all started when I deployed to Bosnia. The base commander saw that I had about 300 CDs with me (just for me). He asked me to play at the Christmas party and then again at a Combat Dining In for the 4 star general in charge of Air Forces in Europe. He enjoyed the party enough to present me with his commander’s coin. When I returned to Germany from the deployment, I started to get the proper equipment and do small parties for the squadron. I soon grew to doing various Christmas parties and other events, anything to keep busy and gain experience-I loved it!
When the military moved me to Oklahoma in 1999, I was able to expand my repertoire to include sports announcing, running contests, karaoke, and sound technician. I became the house DJ at the base club. At the club, I directed and performed the monthly family night with child focused music and games.
Some of the highlights in Oklahoma are several weddings, birthdays, school dances, and retirements. I became sports announcer for 2 local high schools for football, basketball and wrestling (announcer for the state wrestling championships). I was requested to play a state event at the Oklahoma Governor Mansion to excellent reviews from the governor himself! While deployed to Kuwait, I coordinated and performed for a full base party of over 1,000 Air Force, Army, and Marines with the American Ambassador to Kuwait as the guest of honor—quite a success!
I left Oklahoma in 2002 for a year in Korea, while there I worked the three on base clubs every night of the week to keep busy and out of trouble… While in Korea, I vastly increased my Karaoke experience and collection (over 20,000 songs). I also created a Jeopardy-style game show with trivia questions, movie sound bites, and name that tune music questions. This once a week show was the busiest night at the Mustang Club. I also became the house sound tech and liaison to traveling shows visiting Osan. I had the privilege of working with Chely Wright, Brad Martin, Jennifer Paige, and the Almost Nuts Band.
I arrived in Charleston January 2004 and have kept busy ever since. I have become the only DJ for the security forces-10 parties in 3 years. I am on my third year of performing for the local girls scouts “He and Me” father daughter dance.
I have also added mobile sound tech/stage manager to my capabilities with a 16 channel mixing board with enough microphones, power and speakers to make you sound like a headliner.
Some of the highlights in Charleston (so far):
Base Commander’s going away party
Sports announcing for two local high schools (AMHS, CCS)
MC for base formal events—Induction/graduation ceremonies, annual awards
Chief retirement parties
My daughter’s senior prom!
Over 30 weddings from on the beach to tuxedo
6 to 7 Christmas parties every year, most repeat customers 4 years running
Birthday parties ranging from sweet 16 up to 60
Live stage set at a Girl Scout show with 3 bands, a dance troupe and guest speakers at the Navy park.
In conclusion I have a wide variety of music old and new--all of it clean. I am as involved or invisible as you want. My goal is to provide you with the entertainment that is perfect for you and your event!
